I'm Amy Mason, and in celebration of my 50th year, I am thrilled to announce that The Pond Room Studio and Creative Adventures is open for business! Until now, art has been a hobby for me, creating pieces for friends and family as gifts or on request. However, in almost every job I ever had, I tried to introduce some kind of creative element, until I finally decided to indulge myself fully and share my passion with others. I am a self-taught artist with a good imagination, and I like to mix it up with multiple mediums like acrylic and oil paint, watercolor, pencil, charcoal, chalk pastel, colored pencil, wool, polymer clay, beach (sea) glass and other found and collected natural items from in and around the oceans of beautiful Nova Scotia.

I have lived in rural Nova Scotia most of my life and reside in Greenhill in my childhood home with my husband Larry of 29 years, and our kitty "Vampy". My formal education is in Psychology, but over the years, through experimentation, I began to realize just how truly powerful creating art can be for clearing the mind of everyday stresses and instilling a real sense of accomplishment (and yes, sometimes frustration!). Art, or creativity in general, has huge therapeutic value and doing these things on a social level offers something that cannot be experienced in any other way. I am offering a forum for people with creative interests to connect through a common experience and to make my creations to those who appreciate them.

I like to stay on trend with new and exciting mediums and craft ideas, while incorporating my own unique flair, and using the old standbys in different and interesting ways!
